Information for International Exchange Student Placement Agencies
Midland Public Schools (MPS) has implemented a new, formalized process for the 2026-2027 academic year regarding the acceptance of foreign exchange students. This update is designed to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and support for all students and host families involved in our program. Agencies must now be pre-approved by the district before they will be permitted to submit any student placement applications.
To begin the approval process, all agencies must submit the following documentation listed below.
Required Action Items (Due Date: February 28, 2026)
- Required Form: The completed International Exchange Agency Information & Request to Place Students form linked below. Please download, complete, and return this form via email to enroll@midlandps.org.
- CSIET Certification: Current CSIET Certification documentation.
- Vetting Outline: A detailed outline of the agency’s process for vetting host families.
- Letters of Review: At least two (2) letters of review from other school districts in which your agency has had successful placements.
Critical Deadline and Review Criteria
All required items must be completed and submitted by February 28, 2026 for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Please note: Without these required action items submitted by the appropriate due date, Midland Public Schools will not review or accept any of your student applications for the 2026-2027 academic year. Final agency approval will also be based on feedback received from past MPS host families and exchange students.
