CURLING CLUB:  There will be an informational meeting in Mr. Graves room (309) on today, October 22nd and Thursday October 24th, from 2:45 to 3:00 pm.  We curl on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Midland Curling Center on the campus on the Midland Community Center from 3:30 to 5:00 pm.  Open House/Learn to Curl dates are set to start next week.  Anyone interested in checking out this amazing Olympic sport, can attend one of the informational meetings or see Mr. Graves in room 309.


MENTORS:  Attention students – Mrs. Brooks is looking for students who want to serve as mentors for new students who enroll during the school year.  You may have noticed that we have had several new students enroll since the school year started. New students need someone to help them find their classes, sit with them at lunch and introduce them to their classmates.  If you would like to serve as a New Student Mentor, please grab your lunch and meet Mrs. Brooks in the library on Tuesday, October 22. This training will be held during 6th, 7th, and 8th grade lunch hours.  Please consider serving as a New Student Mentor!


SCIENCE OLYMPIAD:  Science Olympiad meets today after school until 4:30 in room 305.  Please let Mrs. Brillhart know if you cannot make this practice.


LIBRARY OVERDUES:  Please check your locker and classrooms for overdue library books, and return them today.


YEARBOOK:  Attention yearbook members – there will be a short yearbook meeting in Ms. Stanifer’s room, #121, right after school on Wednesday until 3:15pm.  Contact Ms. Stanifer or Ms. Kellett if you are unable to attend.


HUSKY STARS:  The Husky STARS lunch group will be starting soon!  If you would like to sign up or need more information about the program, we will be meeting tomorrow in the conference room of the main office during your lunch time.  If interested, Mrs. Cook and Mr. Deitrick can help you become part of the Husky STARS lunch group



BOYS BASKETBALL: Boys basketball tryouts will start on Monday Oct. 28th and go until Oct. 30th in the Jefferson Gym. 

8th grade tryouts will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 pm

7th grade tryouts will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.

Any 7th or 8th grade boy who is interested in trying out for the team needs to fill out a player questionnaire prior to the start of tryouts. 

**The questionnaire is located in the main office.  Please turn the information in to Mr. McGee’s mailbox. 

**All athletes must have a physical on file in order to tryout.


GIRLS SWIM:  There will be an informational meeting today, Oct. 22 in Room 104 with Coach Hall and Coach Jensen after school.


WRESTLING:  Any 6th, 7th or 8th grader who is interested in participating on the Jefferson Wrestling team this year, please sign up during your lunch period.  Thank you.


Division I GBB:  The D1 GBB teams swept a pair of games from NE yesterday to finish the season with 23 straight wins.  Our white team rolled to a 45-23 win and the red team won the 2nd game 52-22.  The season end Pizza Party is tomorrow after school in Coach Juengel’s room.


Division 2 GBB:  In yesterday’s action, the D2 Jefferson girl’s basketball teams lost a pair of hard-fought games against NE.  Jefferson ended the season with a respectable 13 and 11 record. Our team party will be Wednesday after school in Coach Hackbarth’s room.  Make sure to turn in a clean uniform and practice jersey before the party.
