Previous Board Actions
Midland Public Schools has placed a $285 million Facilities Improvement Bond Proposal on the May 6, 2025 ballot. If approved by voters, this bond would make district-wide improvements to enhance safety and security, expand pre-kindergarten offerings, modernize educational program spaces, upgrade arts, athletics, and play areas, and address aging facilities and infrastructure needs.

January 2025 - Board Calls for May 6 Election
At the January 21, 2025, Board of Education meeting, the Board voted unanimously to pass a resolution placing the Facilities Improvement Bond Proposal on the May 6, 2025, Special Election ballot.
December 2024 - The Board Approves MPS's Application for Preliminary Qualifications for Bonds
At the December 16, 2024, Board of Education Meeting, action was taken after Superintendent Penny Miller-Nelson sought approval for the board to sign Midland Public Schools Application for Preliminary Qualification for Bonds. The motion passed unanimously with a roll call vote.
November 2024 - Board Members Form Consensus and Make a Bond Program Recommendation
At the November 11, 2024, Special Board of Education meeting, the Board of Education discussed facility agreements, outcomes, a review of the journey, question follow-up, and study committee questions.
October 2024 - Board Members Review Survey Results
At the October 21, 2024, Board of Education meeting, board members and administrators reviewed the results of the surveys given to focus groups and the community.

December 2023 - Board Participates in Facilities Workshop Study
At the December 18, 2023, Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Penny Miller-Nelson, Assistant Superintendent Brian Brutyn, Daryl Dombrow—Barton Malow , and Dale French—French and Associates led the Board in the facility assessment workshop study.
