Distinguished Service Award
With the mission of the Midland Public Schools serving as its focus, the Board of Education acknowledges the valuable contributions made by its support staff in providing an excellent education for our students. A quality educational system can only occur when every employee group works together to promote the welfare of the students and the community it serves.
To further recognize the effort put forth by members of our support staff, the Midland Public Schools’ Board of Education has established the "Distinguished Service Award" to be presented annually.

Gerstacker Proficiency Awards
Awarded each year since 1956, the Gerstacker Proficiency Awards recognize contributions by exemplary teachers beyond the ordinary level of professional performance. These awards are made possible through the generous support of the Carl and Esther Gerstacker Donor-Advised Fund at the Midland Area Community Foundation.

Administrators Inpiring Excellence Award 2024
One Administrator each year will receive the "Administrators Inspiring Excellence Award", recognizing them for their important contributions to the success of staff, students, and the entire MPS community. An Administrator will be chosen for showing exemplary leadership, dedication to students and staff, commitment to the district vision, and practicing the values of MPS. This award has been made possible through the generous support of the Carl and Esther Gerstacker Donor-Advised Fund at the Midland Area Community Foundation. The deadline for nominations is Friday, May 24, 2024.
