Latest Facility Planning Sessions Share Steering Team's Recommendation with Attendees
July 16, 2026 - The Blueprint for Tomorrow Steering Team has recommended a 1.5-1.75 mill sinking fund to help address our mounting facilities needs. At our latest round of community engagement sessions on July 15th, we took the show on the road with @GMB to Jefferson Middle School to share and discuss the details of this recommendation with community members.
Together, we reviewed the recommendation and potential millage rates, heard from Steering Team members about their reasoning for the recommendation, and discussed how we can best communicate information and updates to the community. (If you have ideas about new ways to reach residents, please email communications@midlandps.org.) Thank you to everyone who attended!
You can view the presentation files and watch a recording of the meeting below, plus find all the info about the facility planning process to date at www.midlandps.org/facilityplanning.
Next steps: The Board of Education will discuss and make a decision on the Steering Team's recommendation at its upcoming regular meeting on Monday, July 20, at 7 p.m. You can attend in person at the Administration Center, 600 E. Carpenter Street, or watch live from home. Find the many ways to watch at www.midlandps.org/mpstv.
