District Calendar

The MPS school calendar is developed each year through a collaborative process. The Midland County Educational Service Agency (ESA) sets a countywide framework for common start dates, professional development days, and the timing and minimum length of winter and spring breaks, as required by state law. From there, the MPS district calendar is negotiated annually between district administration and the Midland City Education Association (MCEA). The negotiated calendar is then presented to the MPS Board of Education for final approval.
