Reminder: New Student Wireless Communication Device Policy Begins August 24
August 21, 2026 - You may remember that at the end of the 2025-2026 school year, we sent a survey seeking input to help develop a cell phone use policy to comply with new State of Michigan laws. You gave great feedback, as usual! Now, as we head into the new school year, we are implementing the new Student Wireless Communication Device Policy that your feedback helped create.
Please note: This applies to cell phones, tablets, and other personal wireless electronic devices. Exceptions will be made for certain devices that support student needs.
And now, the policy...
𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐊-𝟖
- Devices must be stored in students' backpacks or lockers at all times.
𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝟗-𝟏𝟐
- Outside of usable times, students' devices must be stored in their lockers.
𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 & 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬
- Your cooperation and support are critical to this policy's success. Please discuss these expectations with your student and ensure they are prepared to follow this policy every day.
We know that this will require a shift in routine for some students. Our staff will help them adjust to these new rules in the coming weeks. For more info, check out your school's student handbook on the school's website under the About Us tab. To find your school's site, click the 'Schools' button in the top menu bar.
