Summer Virtual Program
Each summer school virtual course is designed to match district and state curriculum standards and is taught by certified instructors through engaging video lectures and interactive web activities. Students can easily keep track of their progress, get immediate grades, and use cool features like pausing lectures and taking notes. With online learning, you can access your courses anytime, anywhere, as long as you have an Internet connection, giving you the flexibility to learn on your own terms!
The Virtual Summer Program is separate from the Credit Recovery Summer Program being run by the different school buildings. Please contact your school building administration for information on their Credit Recovery Summer Program.

Summer Program FAQ
Each eLearning course meets district and state curriculum requirements. Certified instructors teach lessons virtually using video lectures, web-based activities, vocabulary exercises, and assessments. Students can track their progress, receive instant grading, and access features like pausing lectures, taking eNotes, and reviewing assessments until they master the material. Additionally, an eLearning facilitator offers motivation and support to help students navigate their coursework successfully.
One of the true benefits of online learning is having the flexibility of 24-hour course access anywhere a computer can access the Internet. Students should expect to invest a minimum of 45-60 hours to complete each course (students needing to retake assessments to achieve mastery will need significantly more time) and be present in the eLearning lab to take tests and the final exam. Upon enrollment, students will receive information regarding lab hours.
Yes. Students can work wherever they have an Internet connection and a device that can connect to the Internet.
Yes. Our summer program is self-paced. A course can be finished at any time as long as it is completed within the dates of the summer program.
Yes, however, tests and exams must be monitored. Appointments will be made to facilitate the taking of these assessments. Tests can be proctored in person or virtually Monday - Thursday 9:00am - 12:00pm. Limited spots will be available for virtual proctoring in the afternoons beginning the second week of the summer session. Access to the calendar links are sent to all students upon registration.
Yes. The eLearning Facilitator can work with you. The program can be set up so that students can complete several units at once, then come in and take the respective tests.
It is strongly suggested students discuss this with their counselor prior to registration.
Students may take up to two courses during the summer. You must register by June 19 to enroll in two classes. After June 19, you may register for only one class.
There are no extensions. Plan ahead if you intend to take time away from your studies, such as going on vacation or traveling out of town.
No. Our dedicated facilitators will be fully concluding the school year. Summer classes will begin June 8, 2026.
Contact the eLearning facilitator as soon as possible. Most situations can be handled within a day. Because staff are rotated on and off for their daily work schedule, the best way to contact the available staff is to use the virtuallearning@midlandps.org email address. Whoever is “on-duty” will be able to assist you.
